CHARLOTTE, NC- Fayetteville State University and Bowie State University posted perfect 3-0 records to advance as the top seeds of their respective pools at day one of the 2007 CIAA Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Broncos downed Saint Paul's, Livingstone and Virginia State en route to their semi-finals appearance while the BSU Lady Bulldogs swept Shaw, Elizabeth City State and Saint Augustine's to advance to Friday's play.
Despite losing to Fayetteville State, Livingstone College stayed in contention by upending Virginia State and Saint Paul's and will face Bowie State in the first semi-final match on Friday at 5:00pm. The ECSU Lady Vikings' #1 seed was negated by Bowie State but they will stay in the hunt for the tournament title via wins over Saint Augustine's and Shaw. ECSU will face off against Fayetteville State in the second semi-finals game at 7:00pm on Friday. Both matches will take place at the Grady Cole Center.
