CIAA Spring Sports Festival Well Underway:
Softball All-Conference, Rookie Teams and Player of the Year

Petersburg, VA... The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Softball Coaches Association has selected this year's Softball All-CIAA and Rookie Teams.  This year's first team highlights five student-athletes from last year's team; all of whom are still in play at the 2008 Softball Championship Tournament at Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA.

Kjirsten Beckstead (VSU), Judy Hatch (VSU) and Geneva Washington (VSU), all of the 2007 CIAA Softball Rookie Team have moved up to join this year's all-conference team as well.

The 2008 Player of the Year, Tiffany Toney a junior, shortstop from Abilene, TX clinches the title this year, having led the Lady Bulldogs to the 2007 conference championship crown and entering the 2008 tournament at the second seed in the East.
