CU Fall Sports Community Night Set for August 16th

MURFREESBORO - The Chowan University Department of Athletics announced today that it will host the annual CU Fall Sports Community Night on Thursday, August 16th at 6:00 PM.  This year will mark the fourth year that the Hawks have hosted the free and fun night for the Roanoke-Chowan community.

The free, family-oriented event will give Hawks fans a chance to interact with the returning  fall sports teams and coaching staffs including, football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, cross country, and cheerleading.  The event will also feature sports activities and games as well as mini skills clinics in each of our fall sports.

The athletic department staff will cook and serve dinner to all those in attendance.  Along with the free meal, there will be giveaways throughout the event.

“Each year our attendance and participation in this event has grown. We have seen more families and fans participate. It's a great sight to see our student-athletes interact with the local community,” stated Meredith Long, Deputy Athletics Director at Chowan University. “We hope to build on that growth with this year's event. It really is a win-win for everyone involved.”

The event will be aired live online. More information will follow.
