Lincoln University, PA - Ninety-three Lincoln University student athletes earned academic honors during the spring semester. These 93 athletes from all 13 varsity sports and cheerleading teams represent 39.8% of the entire student athlete population of the university.
Lincoln University students will be recognized for their academic achievement at the institution's annual honors convocation which will be held on November 9, 2017.
"The student-athletes here at Lincoln work hard on and off the field and courts all year, "said Interim Athletic director Anthony Plá. "This year's group of talented individuals showed that the student surely does come first as it pertains to their studies. We are very proud of their accomplishments in the classroom knowing how much time they dedicate to their respective teams."
A total of 63 student athletes earned Dean's List honors for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.3 or better while passing 12 or more credits. This includes one student athlete, women's soccer player Tamara Greene (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway), earning Presidential Dean's List honors for recording a perfect 4.0 for the semester.
An additional 30 student-athletes recorded a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.29, earning honorable mention status for the Spring 2017 semester.
The Lincoln University football team led the way with 32 of their 88 enrolled players earning honors (22 Dean's List; 10 honorable mention). The women's soccer team had 12 of their 19 players earn Dean's List honors and was the top women's program.
A total of 11 of the 93 athletes earning a 3.0 or better this during the spring semester played multiple sports.
