FSU's Miller Selected Recipient of MOAA/NCAA DII Grant

Fayetteville, NC -- Dr. LaWanda D. Miller, Assistant Athletics Director for Business Affairs and Senior Woman Administrator at Fayetteville State University, has been selected as a recipient of the 2017 Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA)/NCAA Division II Grant by CIAA Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams.

As the recipient of this grant, Dr. Miller will be attending the MOAA Symposium held in conjunction with the 2017 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention, which is the largest gathering of athletics administrators in the country, in Orlando, Florida on June 8-12, 2017.

This will be the ninth year that MOAA and NCAA Division II have collaborated for this initiative to provide educational and networking opportunities for minority administrators at the Division II level. Dr. Miller says that she is honored to be selected for this professional development opportunity and looks forward to meeting various high-profile individuals in the sports industry and learning from industry veterans.

Dr. Miller is going into her 13th year as Assistant Athletics Director and her 4th year as Senior Woman Administrator. She is a member of the NACDA, National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), Collegiate Women Sports Awards Committee (CWSA), and Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA).
