"Big Mo" Stanfield Named CIAA Sportscaster of the Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Maurice Stanfield, better known as "Big Mo", of WAUG-TV/Radio was selected CIAA Sportscaster of the Year Saturday during championship night of the CIAA Tournament at Time Warner Cable Arena.
A Chicago, Ill., native, Stanfield has 17 years of experience as a broadcaster. This is his third year as the "voice of Falcons' football and basketball" at Saint Augustine's College, home of WAUG-TV/Radio.
Stanfield is well known in the region for his insightful commentary, quick wit and humor. He has worked at ESPN 1590 in Greensboro, N.C., WCCB in Clemson, S.C., and Sports Radio 1400 in Columbia, S.C. Stanfield also has hosted two nationally syndicated sports talk shows and was formerly the play-by-play announcer at Winston-Salem State University football and basketball games.
