WSSU announces changes in athletic media relations
 
WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Trevin Q. Goodwin has been named the Interim Director of Athletic Media Relations at Winston-Salem State University. Goodwin, who has served as assistant athletic media relations director at WSSU for the past four years, will begin his new role immediately following the departure of longtime assistant athletic director for media relations Chris Zona.

For the past four seasons, Goodwin has been the primary media contact for WSSU volleyball, cross country, bowling, women’s basketball, track & field, and softball. As a part of his duties, Goodwin not only assisted in maintaining the relationship between WSSU athletics and the local and national media, he also served as the primary statistician for WSSU athletics.
 
“Trevin brings a wealth of experience and ability to role of athletic media relations director and we are grateful to have Trevin in place to assume these needed duties,” WSSU Director of Athletic William “Bill” Hayes said. “This interim role will give Trevin every opportunity to display his skills and lead our athletic media relations department.”
 
Prior to joining the Winston-Salem State staff in January of 2006, Goodwin spent four years at South Carolina State as the assistant sports information director to the legendary William Hamilton. During his time at South Carolina State, Goodwin served as the primary publications and graphic designer for Bulldog athletics in addition to his statistical and media relations duties. He began his career in 2001 at his alma mater, Charleston Southern University where he served as the first assistant sports information director in the school’s history.
 
He currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Charleston Southern University and is a native of Bowman, South Carolina.
