At the beginning of that season Murray made a name for himself when he scored a career high 31 points against Miami (11/18/03) and scored the winning basketball at the buzzer (89-87-11/11/03) against Milwaukee. That season he scored 20 or more points in 10 of the Sonics first 11 games when he started because of an injury to Sonics star Ray Allen.

During his career at SU, Murray was a two time All-CIAA star and was named CIAA Player of the Year and the National Player of the Year in 2002. Murray’s jersey was retired in 2002 giving him the distinction as the first and only SU men’s basketball player to have his number retired.
