FSU Student-Athlete Named to NCAA Advisory Committee

Fayetteville, NC - Fayetteville State University's Department of Athletics has announced that Richard Watkins has been appointed as a member of the NCAA Division II Student Advisory Committee. Watkins, a junior, is a member of the football team and president of Fayetteville State University's Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).

The Greensboro, NC native will serve on the committee at the close of the 2007 NCAA Convention and will continue through the close of the 2010 NCAA Convention.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on student-athlete experience. The committee also offers input on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athletes lives on NCAA member institutions campuses. In February 2007, Watkins will attend the NCAA Leadership Academy, along with Sha'Quana Veney, a junior, and a member of the volleyball team.
