Jack S. Brayboy Gymnasium Basketball Court to Be Named for Long-time JCSU Head Men's Basketball Coach
Stephen Joyner, Sr. Court to be Unveiled Before Start of Fayetteville State Contest
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - February 18, 2008 - Johnson C. Smith University will name the basketball court in the Jack S. Brayboy Gymnasium, "Stephen Joyner, Sr. Court" before the start of the men's game tomorrow, February 18, 2008, against Fayetteville State University.
Joyner has been employed at Johnson C. Smith University since
1978 having served as both the head women's and men's basketball
coach. He has been at the helm of the men's program since 1987 and
has a career record of 374-226 spanning 20 years. He is the
winningest coach in JCSU history. In 2005, Joyner became the
athletics director in addition to his duties as head men's
basketball coach.
