RALEIGH, N.C. - Forty-eight current and former student-athletes
were among the 168 Saint Augustine's College graduates in the 2009
class who received their degrees at the 142nd commencement
exercises last Saturday (May 9) on the campus Quadrangle.
Twenty-nine percent (29%) of the graduating class were
student-athletes.
"It's academics first, athletics second and a controlled social
life third for student-athletes at Saint Augustine's College,"
Athletic Director George Williams said. "Student-athletes come to
Saint Augustine's College to graduate."
Media personality Tom Joyner gave the commencement address, which
focused on finding your passion in the workplace. Afterward, each
