JCSU Graduate Mauranda Elliott named Head JV Coach at Charlotte Christian
Moving off the court as a player, to the bench as a
coach

Charlotte, NC – Recent Johnson C. Smith University graduate
Mauranda Elliott (Tabor City, NC) has been appointed the new head
junior varsity volleyball coach at Charlotte Christian School in
Charlotte, NC. Elliott (Class of 2010) completed her degree in the
computer engineering at JCSU.
Elliott was a two-sport student-athlete for the Golden Bulls;
participating in volleyball and softball for multiple seasons each.
As a middle hitter, she tallied 213 kills and 298 digs in two
seasons of volleyball competition. Elliott was awarded the Most
Outstanding Offensive Player award by her head coach Emerald
Fulmore at the 2010 JCSU Annual Student-Athlete Banquet.
When asked about the opportunity, Elliott had the following reply;
“I am very excited about this position that I have been
offered and exceptionally excited about working with this young
group of ladies to a winning season starting on August 13,
2010. This date kicks off our first game of a successful
season.”
Charlotte Christian School is a Christ-centered college preparatory
school for junior kindergarten through twelfth grade students.
