Chowan's Dennis Helsel named to AD Association Board of Directors

MURFREESBORO - Chowan University's Dennis Helsel, Vice President
for Athletics/Director of Athletics, has been unanimously approved
by the officers of the Division II Athletic Directors Board of
Directors to serve a three year term representing the CIAA.
Currently there are 23 members of the Division II ADA Board of
Directors, representing the 23 Division II conferences. This
organization was created in an effort to better explore mutual
problems and opportunities encountered by colleges and universities
that participate in NCAA Division II athletics programs, to better
facilitate the administration of college and university athletics
and to better promote and elevate the standards of athletic
administration.
As a member of the Board, Helsel has a responsibility to: 1) obtain
input from the conference to bring to the Division II Athletic
Directors Association (DII ADA) to ensure conference membership
input and involvement is part of the process; 2) communicate back
to the conference membership ongoing DII ADA activity and progress;
and 3) assist in the selection of a replacement representative upon
expiration of the three year term to ensure
continuity.
