HSRN Basketball National Player of the Week Fan Poll

Hartly, DE – The 2010-11 basketball conference schedule
has tipped-off and the Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN)
National Player of the Week fan poll voting has started. Each
week, HSRN will announce a men and women national player of the
week from both Division I and Division II action.
The top performance each week will be selected and the HBCU fans
across the country will get a chance to cast their vote for who
they think had the best game. The Fan Poll is designed to get
fans involved with the excitement of the HBCU college basketball
action. Fans are asked to log on to HSRN.com and cast their
vote for the top performance. Fans can vote on the poll this
evening (Tues. 11) thru Fri. (Jan. 14) until 1am ET. Voting
this week is for game played from January 3rd thru January 8,
2011. Through out the remaining regular season fan poll
voting will start on Sundays and run until Wednesday
afternoon. The nominees for this week are:
Div. II Men
Trevin Parks – Johnson C. Smith – G
– 5’9, 165 – SO/ Hickory, NC
Parks has been the leading scorer for JCSU and helped propel the
Golden Bulls over two CIAA opponents this week- on the road. In the
71-55 win against Chowan on Thursday, Parks had a game-high 27
points and three steals in the Helms Center. In the 77-75 victory
against Elizabeth City State, Parks scored 22 points and dished out
seven assists to deliver the first CIAA loss to ECSU. Parks has
scored double figures in every game played. He currently ranks 2nd
in the conference in scoring and 7th in assists; averaging 19.8
points and 4.1 assists per game.
Div. II Women
Courtney Medley – Winston Salem St.
– G – 5’8 – JR/Chesapeake, VA
Medley had a great week of performances on the court; leading the
Lady Rams in scoring 2-3 games and scoring a career high against
Virginia State (24pts.). Her performances set the tone for each
game, helping the Lady Rams go a perfect 3-0 to start the New
Year.
