Hartly, DE – The fans have selected their choice for the 2011
Basketball Fan Poll National Player of the Year. The winners
include Johnson C. Smith’s Trevin Parks and St.
Augustine’s Allison Sikes
HSRN developed the fan poll to get all HBCU alumni, students and
fans involved with the national process and to also give everyone a
chance to consistently keep up with the individual performances
around the country. This web site and our broadcasts are
designed to keep you abreast of all action around HBCU athletic
competition.
Div. II – Men
Trevin Parks – J.C. Smith – G –
5’9, 165, JR/Hickory, NC
Parks dominated the CIAA during the regular season in
scoring; leading the pack with 471 total points. He is ranked 1st
in the CIAA and 9th in the NCAA DII ranking for scoring, averaging
22.4 points per game. He has been named CIAA Newcomer of the Week
twice and conference Player of the Week twice. Parks is averaging
4.6 assists per game and has three 30+ scoring nights, including a
career-high 36 points.
Div. II - Women
Allison Sikes – St. Augustine’s – G
– 5’10, SR/Richmond, VA
Sikes was selected the CIAA Player of the Year and
averaged 16.6 points and seven rebounds per game in three
tournament games. On the year she averaged 17 points and 7.2
rebounds.
