Lincoln's Ford-Kee selected to serve on NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. (May 16, 2011) — Lincoln
University Director of Athletics Dianthia Ford-Kee has been
selected to serve on the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests
Committee (MOIC). The term is effective immediately and lasts
through September 1, 2014.
The association-wide committee spans NCAA Divisions I, II and
III and was formed by the Association in January 1991 to review
issues related to the interests of ethnic minorities and women.
These issues focus on the education and welfare of minority
student-athletes, as well as the enhancement of opportunities for
ethnic minorities and women in coaching, athletics administration,
officiating and the NCAA governance structure.
Ford-Kee brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the
position as this is her second appointment on an Association-wide
committee. From 1992-1998, she served on the Committee of
Women’s Athletics. Entering her fourth year as the Director
of Athletics at Lincoln, she also currently sits on the NCAA
Division II Diversity Project Team.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the
Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee,” Ford-Kee
said. “It has done great work since its establishment in
1991, and I am confident that my experiences and perspective can
result in a positive influence for women and the different
minorities that constitute the NCAA.”
