CIAA Announces All-CIAA Baseball Team And CIAA Baseball Player Of The Year

HAMPTON, VA - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) has announced the 2006 All-CIAA baseball team as well as the CIAA baseball player and rookie of the year as chosen by the CIAA Baseball Coaches Association with Carlos Gutierrez of Elizabeth City State University being selected as the 2006 CIAA Baseball Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Gutierrez, a 6’1” senior outfielder from Elizabeth City State University earned CIAA Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season as he led the CIAA in runs scored (43), hits (56), runs batted in (58) and home runs (13) en route to back-to-back Player of the Year selections.

News, VA was named the CIAA Baseball Rookie of the Year.
