Shaw's Roy Maddox Named Black College Baseball Pitcher of the Week

(Pikesville, MD) - Black College Baseball Monday named Roy Maddox their Pitcher of the Week for the week concluding Feb. 13.

Maddox (5-6, senior, Mechanicsville, MD) threw a no-hitter through six innings and a one-hitter on the game in Shaw's 3-2 win over Voorhees Friday evening.

In that contest, he struck out 11 and walked only two.

The Bears opened their season last week and are 3-2 on the season after a doubleheader sweep by Winston-Salem State followed by a sweep of a three-game set over Voorhees.

On Wednesday, the Bears travel to Mount Olive College for a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader.    

Shaw does not return home until Saturday, February 26 when they host Benedict College in a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.  The Bears play all home games at Lion's Park at 516 Dennis Avenue in Raleigh.
