The CIAA Announces the Best of 2005: All-Conference Football Team and Players of the Year

Hampton, VA…The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association is proud to announce this season’s finest, the All-CIAA Football Team and Player of the Year. Offensive Player of the Year, senior, runningback Martin Hicks hails from Winston-Salem State University and is a native of Oxford, NC. Hicks ranks 4th in the conference in receptions with 147 for 989 yds., averaging 6.7 yards a carry. Hicks also leads the conference in points scored with 14, averaging 8.6 ppg.
Defensive Player of the Year, Tyrone Pettaway of Newport News, VA, is a senior, defensive linebacker for the St. Augustine’s College Falcons. This season Tyrone ranked second in the conference in tackles; 53 total tackles, 43 solo.
