The CIAA 2005 Football Season is in Motion: Preseason Picks Announced

Petersburg, VA… The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced its 2005 Preseason All-Conference Team and the Predicted Order of Finish during the 2005 Football Press Conference and Luncheon on the campus of Virginia State University.

The 2004 CIAA and Pioneer Bowl champions, the Shaw University Bears (5-3, 10-2), are predicted to repeat as Eastern Divisional Champions. Shaw celebrated three selections for the preseason team: Senior Defensive Lineman David Coleman from Miami, FL, Junior Defensive Backs Torrance Nunnally and Shawn Woodward from Danville, VA and Rock Hill, SC, respectively.

Fayetteville State University (6-1, 8-4) 2004 CIAA runner-up, has been predicted to finish first in the West this season. Fayetteville State had two players selected for the Preseason team: Offensive Lineman Senior Ellard Steen from Lumberton, NC and Junior Jermaine Harper from Fayetteville, NC.
