Hall of Saint Augustine's College Wins Second National Football Weekly Award

October 18, 2006

Alex Hall (Glenarden, MD) of Saint Augustine's College won his second national football award this week.

Hall, a 6-4, 250-pound defensive end, was selected by Don Hansen's Football Gazette on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 as one of its three national defensive players of the week. He was honored based on his performance in a 15-9 victory over Johnson C. Smith over the weekend. Hall collected 10 tackles, 6 tackles for a loss of 33 yards and 4.5 sacks for a loss of 30 yards, all season-highs. The tackles for loss and sack totals are the most by a Falcons' player since the school restarted football in 2002.

A day earlier, Hall was named D2Football.com national defensive player for the week. The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) named Hall as its defensive lineman of the week on Sunday, October 15, 2006.

Hall is the second Saint Augustine's College player selected national player of the week by D2Football.com this season. Middle linebacker Kevin Jones (South Hill, VA) earned D2Football.com defensive player of the week honors after amassing a career-high 21 tackles against Carson-Newman on September 16, 2006.

Hall is a 2006 D2Football.com preseason All-American.

Coming off a huge win, the Falcons host Livingstone College on Homecoming Day on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Broughton High School Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
