NCCU Football to Face Delta State in NCAA Regional Playoffs

North Carolina Central University, the undefeated CIAA champions and No. 1 seed in the Southeast region, will play No. 5 seed Delta State University in the second round of the 2006 NCAA Division II Football Southeast Region playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 25, inside O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium in Durham, N.C. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Delta State advances to the second round of the regional playoffs after a 17-10 come-from-behind victory at No. 4 Elizabeth City State University on Saturday (Nov. 18). ECSU held a 10-0 lead midway through the third quarter, but the Statesmen scored 17 unanswered points for the road win.

The Eagles, 11-0 for the first time in school history, are ranked No. 4 in the NCAA Division II and No. 1 in black college football.
