VUU's Hampton named National DII Player of the Week

VUU'S MICHAEL HAMPTON NAMED NATIONAL D-II PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Virginia Union University's Michael Hampton has been named the National NCAA Division II Player of the Week by Don Hansen's Football Gazette.   Hampton, a 5-10 sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., set a VUU school-record and tied the CIAA record by hauling in a 99-yard touchdown reception in the Panthers' 27-10 victory against West Virginia Wesleyan. He also had one punt return for 36 yards and two kickoffs returned for 88 yards. (223 All-Purpose Yards).
