St. Aug's Hall Named To D2Football.com All-Preseason Football Team

August 16, 2007

Standout defensive end Alex Hall of Saint Augustine's College was selected to the 2007 D2Football.com Preseason All-America first team, which was announced on Wednesday, Aug. 15. This is the second straight year that Hall (Glenarden, MD) has made the D2Football.com preseason first team. He is the only CIAA player on either the first or second team.

The honor is the latest for Hall (6-6, 260 lbs.), who is one of the top NFL prospects at his position. In 2006, Hall and former teammate Kevin Jones, now a free agent with the Washington Redskins, became the first two All-Americans at Saint Augustine's College since the school restarted football in 2002.

Last season, Hall was voted to three All-America teams (Associated Press, D2Football.com, Daktronics), after recording a CIAA-high 13 sacks, which ranked him second nationally. He is already the team career leader in sacks (18.5) and holds the team record for most sacks in a season and game (4.5) as he enters his senior season.

A returning All-CIAA player, Hall is a key reason why the Falcons ranked second nationally in total defense in 2006 and are co-favorites to win the CIAA's Western Division in 2007. The Falcons host Mars Hill at Broughton High School in their first regular-season contest on Sept. 1, 2007. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
