CIAA Football Players of the Week- Week Ten

Offensive Lineman of the Week:
Oliver Pazdry, JR., OL, Shaw, 6-4, 310,
Brooklyn, NY
Pazdry aided the Shaw Bears in accumulating 419 yards of
total offense (264 yards rushing, 155 yards passing); including one
rushing touchdown.
Receiver of the Week:
Davian Richards, SO., WR, Virginia State, 6-1,
190, Orlando, FL
The Trojans' Richards caught 10 passes for 122 yards and
three touchdowns in VSU's 42-27 loss to Virginia Union
University.
Offensive Back of the Week:
Lamar Little, JR., QB, Virginia Union, 5-11,
204, Candor, NC
Little tied two school records in his outing against VSU.
He tied the single game passing touchdowns record with five. In
addition he tied the single game total touchdowns record with six.
Lamar completed 12 of 17 passes for 255 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Little was also named the game MVP.
Defensive Lineman of the Week:
Andrade Olliver, Fr., MLB, Saint Augustine's,
6-0, 220, Kenly, NC
In the Falcons's win over Livingstone College, Olliver had
a monster game with racking up a game-high 12 tackles, 2
interceptions, 1 quarterback sack, 1 fumble recovery and 1 forced
fumble in their 27-8 victory.
Defensive Back of the Week:
Deonta Gail, JR., DB, Virginia State, 6-2,
185, Richmond, VA
Gail led all players with 12 tackles, including seven solo
takedowns in VSU's 42-27 loss to Virginia Union on Saturday. Gail
also forced a fumble and recovered a fumble in the game.
Rookie of the Week:
Jeremy Franklin, FR., WR, Johnson C. Smith,
6-3, 200, Casselberry, Fla.
Jeremy continues his 100+ receiving yards outings with
five receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown. As a freshman, he
currently leads the CIAA in all receiving categories.
Specialty Player of the Week:
Ryne Powell, SO., Kicker, Shaw, 5-8, 190,
Brown Summit, NC
Powell was the beginning and ending of Shaw's offensive
production as he accounted for nine of Shaw's 16 points totaling 75
yards in field goal yardage. He was three of three in attempts as
he successfully kicked field goals of 24 yards, 36 yards, and 25
yards. His last made field goal undeniably propelled Shaw from
being down by one, to being up by two to win the game.
Coach of the Week:
Willard Bailey, Saint Paul's
College
Bailey coached his team to its third straight victory in a
row and the fourth of the season. The Tigers defeated ECSU, a team
that was a pre-season conference favorite to return to the
championship game.
