HAMPTON, VA-   Johnson C. Smith's Jeremy Franklin and Virginia Union's Andre LeBlanc, II lead a talented class of freshmen that comprise the 2007 CIAA Football All-Rookie Offensive and Defensive teams as voted by the CIAA Sports Information Directors' Association.
 
The Golden Bulls' Jeremy Franklin, a wide receiver who hails from Casselberry, FL has been named the 2007 Offensive Rookie of the Year.  He tops the CIAA in receptions (37) and reception yards with an average of 17.8 yards per catch. Over nine games he has more receiving yards (658) than any other CIAA player and is averaging 73.1 yards per game. A three-time CIAA Receiver of the Week, Franklin has caught 4 touchdowns this year for JCSU with his longest going for 99 yards on September 22nd versus Saint Augustine's.
 
Virginia Union's Andre LeBlanc, II has been tabbed as the 2007 CIAA Defensive Rookie of the Year. A native of Lithonia, GA, LeBlanc is tied for 2nd in the CIAA in interceptions with 4 returned for 73 yards. He leads all freshmen in passes defended and ranks 4th overall with 7 breakups plus his four picks for a total of 11 on the season.  He was named the CIAA Rookie of the Week after returning two interceptions for 62 yards on October 29th against Saint Augustine's. The Panther's secondary is ranked 6th in NCAA Division II in pass defense.
