VUU Head Football Coach's
Contract Not Renewed
November 4, 2008
Virginia Union University officials announced today that the
contract of Head Football Coach Greg Richardson will not be
renewed. Richardson just completed his first season as the
Panthers' Head Football Coach, finishing the season with an overall
record of 5-5.
Richardson assumed the top post in March of 2008, following the
resignation of former head coach Arrington Jones, III. Prior to
that time, Richardson spent five seasons on the sidelines as a
member of the VUU coaching staff.
Richardson served as Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator
during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. He was also a part of Virginia
Union's football staff during the 1997 and 1998 seasons.
