FAYETTEVILLE, NC -Quarterback Bryan Hardy threw four touchdowns and the Broncos' defense recorded its second straight shutout as Fayetteville State beat visiting Saint Paul's 28-0 last night in Fayetteville.

Hardy, who threw for a touchdown in each quarter, completed 15 of 27 passes to eight different receivers and finished with 249 passing yards as the Broncos cruised to the win in their CIAA opener and improved their record to 3-1. Up next for the Broncos is a visit to Petersburg for a cross divisional matchup with Virginia State next Saturday.

In other notable conference action, in Salem, Virginia, tailback Tarian Donaldson rushed for a season-high 204 of his team's 288 rushing yards and reigning CIAA Offensive Player of the Year Lamar Little threw for five touchdowns as the Virginia Union Panthers pounded out a 42-14 win over the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls in the Western Virginia Education Classic.

Led by two Lamar Little touchdown passes to Andre Winston and Phillip Taylor (3 receptions for 59 yards and 3 TDs), coupled with Enrique Cox's 16-yard interception return for a score, the Panthers jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back as they won their conference opener and improved to 3-1 overall.  Next Saturday the Panthers will travel to Murfreesboro, NC for a matchup with Western Division opponent and first year CIAA member Chowan University.
