Offensive Lineman of the Week: Laquentin Blair, Virginia Union University
Position:
 OL  Height:  6-4  Weight:  280  Class:  SR  Hometown:  Dallas, TX 
Comments:  Blair offered protection, allowing QB Lamar Little to throw 5 touchdown passes and running back Tarian Donaldson to rush for 204 yards. The Panthers posted 455 yards of total offense in their 42-14 victory over JCSU.  

 

Receiver of the Week: Phillip "Jarad" Taylor, Virginia Union University
Position:
 WR  Height:  6-1  Weight:  200  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Centreville, VA 
Comments:  Taylor posted a season-high 3 touchdown receptions in the contest. It ties the highest number of single-game touchdown receptions in the CIAA this season. 

 

Offensive Back of the Week: Tarian Donaldson, Virginia Union University
Position:
 RB  Height:  5-9  Weight:  180  Class:  JR  Hometown:  Virginia Beach, VA 
Comments:  Donaldson posted the first 200+ yard rushing game by any CIAA player this season when he posted 204 yards on 21 carries in the Panthers' win over JCSU. 

 

Defensive Lineman of the Week: Dewitt Dixon, Elizabeth City State University
Position:
 LB  Height:  5-9  Weight:  220  Class:  FR  Hometown:  Charlotte, NC 
Comments:  Dixon tallied 9 tackles (3 solo, 6 assisted) and recorded a sack for a loss of a yard vs. Wingate on Saturday. 

 

Linebacker of the Week:  LaQuentin Milo, Virginia State University
Position:
 LB  Height:  6-0  Weight:  225  Class:  SO  Hometown:  Florence, SC 
Comments:  Milo led all VSU tacklers with 10 tackles, including four solo tackles. He also had a sack in VSU's 6-3 win over Saint Augustine's. 

 

Defensive Back of the Week: Rod Jones, Elizabeth City State University
Position:
 FS  Height:  6-1  Weight:  185  Class:  SR  Hometown:  Sussex, VA 
Comments:  Jones, who leads the CIAA in tackles, totaled 13 (7 solo, 6 assisted) and forced a fumble in Saturday's game against Wingate. 

 

Rookie of the Week: Nicholas Bethea, Saint Paul's College
Position:
 RB  Height:  5-10  Weight:  185  Class:  Fr  Hometown:  Columbia, SC 
Comments:  Nicholas Bethea, who played in only his second collegiate game, posted another career day. Bethea rushed for 110-yards on 8 carries in the first half alone and ended the game with 17 carries for 125 total yards. He led all rushers in the game for both teams.

 

Specialty Player of the Week: Justin Parker, Virginia State University
Position:
 K  Height:  5-9  Weight:  170  Class:  SO  Hometown:  Petersburg, VA 
Comments:  Parker accounted for all of VSU's points in the Trojans' 6-3 win over Saint Augustine's College on Saturday, including the game-winning 20-yard field goal with eight seconds left in the game. 

 

Coach of the Week: Andrew Faison, Virginia State University
Comments:
 Coach Faison guided Virginia State University to a dramatic 6-3 win over Saint Augustine's College on Saturday.
