BOWIE STATE’S YUSUF DORMAN-EL NAMED TO HBCU BOWL
EAST SQUAD

(Montgomery, AL) The HBCU Bowl announced that Bowie State’s
Yusuf Dorman-El (Baltimore, MD / Dunbar HS) has been named to the
East Team in the First Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl.
The game will be held on December 19 at the Cramton Bowl in
Montgomery, AL at 2:00 p.m. and broadcast nationally on CBS College
Sports.
Dorman-El will be part of an East Team comprised of players from
Division II’s Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association
(CIAA) and the NCAA FCS Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
They will face a West Team comprised of athletes from the NCAA
Division II Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and
the FCS Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
Dorman-El played in 40 games during his time in a BSU Bulldogs
uniform and ended his career with 98 total tackles (50 solo and 48
assisted), 21 tackles for a loss (102 yards), 12 sacks (63 yards),
two forced fumbles and thee fumble recoveries.
Dorman-El was named to the 2009 All-CIAA First Team, finished the
season ranked fifth on the team in total tackles (36), recorded 5.5
sacks (33 yards), four quarterback hurries, one fumble recovery and
one safety and ranked sixth in CIAA sacks.
The Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl is a joint collaboration between
Synergy Sports & Associates, Inc., Russell Athletic, and the
Parks & Recreation Department of Montgomery, AL.
