VUU's Dunbar selected to play in Cactus Bowl

VUU's Jerome Dunbar will play in the 2010 Valero Cactus Bowl

Virginia Union offensive lineman Jerome Dunbar has been selected to play in the 2010 Valero Cactus Bowl on Friday, January 8th in Kingsville Texas.

Dunbar was a 10 game starter this past football season in which the Panthers set a new school single game rushing record of (495 yards). The Panthers were ranked No. 1 in the CIAA in total rushing yards and led the CIAA in 3rd Down Conversions.

His other collegiate honors/awards include:

20 Game starter at VUU
2005 1st Team All-CIAA
2005 3rd Team Black College Sports Page BAAD Team All-American.

The game is set to kick off January 8th 2010 at 6:35 p.m. Central Standard Time.

Fans can watch the game on Fox College Sports Channel 617 on DirecTV. The game will also be webcast on www.cactusbowl.org and broadcast live via radio on KCCT 1150 AM, a sister station of ESPN 1230.

Dunbar will play for the Eastern All Stars and will wear No. 66. He is a native of Aiken, SC and will graduate this spring with a degree in Education.
