Offensive Lineman of the Week: Broderick
Custis, Virginia State
Position: OL Height: 6-3 Weight: 330 Class: JR Hometown: Melfa, VA
Comments: Custis anchored a Trojan offensive line which enabled VSU to rack up 464 yards in total offense in Virginia State's 37-7 win over Livingstone College on Saturday. The Trojan offensive line also allowed no sacks of quarterback Leonard Johnson.
Receiver of the Week: Kevin Robledo, Chowan
Position: WR Height: 5-11 Weight: 195 Class: SO Hometown: Napa, CA
Comments: Kevin Robledo led all receivers in a 36-21 loss to #19 Albany State University on Thursday night in their season opener. Robledo caught 7 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns. He put the Hawks on the board first with a 48 yard crossing route and outran ASU defenders to paydirt. He caught the Hawks' final score from 20 yards out with time running out on the clock in the fourth quarter.
Offensive Back of the Week: Antwain Lyde,
Position: RB Height: 6-0 Weight: 200 Class: SO Hometown: Florence, SC
Comments: Lyde carried the ball 34 times (one off the school record of 35) for 145 yards and two touchdowns in his first game as a Trojan, to lead VSU to a 37-7 win over Livingstone.
Defensive Lineman of the Week: DeMarcus

Comments: 5 solo tackles, 6 assists, 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack.
Linebacker of the Week: Frederick
Position: LB Height: 6-2 Weight: 220 Class: Jr. Hometown: Columbia, TN
Comments: 9 solo tackles, 7 assists, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack
Defensive Back of the Week: Quintez Smith,
Position: DB Height: 6-1 Weight: 187 Class: Sr. Hometown: Dublin, GA
Comments: Smith had three interception returns for touchdowns (194 yards total). He also made 9 tackles.
Rookie of the Week: Dedrick Anderson, Johnson
Position: RB Height: 5-4 Weight: 150 Class: FR Hometown: Winston-Salem, NC
Comments: A true freshman, Dedrick Anderson rushed for a game-high 167 yards on 20 carries and one touchdown against WV Tech. He broke the game open with a 50 yard TD sprint in the first quarter, then sprung lose for 52 yards on his first carry after halftime. Anderson also gained 61 yards receiving on three catches for a total of 228 yards on offense.

Coach of the Week: Darrell Asberry, Shaw
Comments: Led the Bears to victory over ECSU by utilizing his defense when the offense got off to a slow start.
