Shaw’s Edawn Coughman Named to HBCU Bowl

(RALEIGH, NC)- Shaw offensive lineman Edawn Coughman has been selected to play in the 2010 Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl.
 
Coughman (Sr., 6-6, 300, Atlanta, GA) has twice been named CIAA Offensive Lineman of the Week and anchors an offensive line that has helped the Bears gain 388.4 yards per game and score 35.4 points per game.  The Bears are 25th in the nation in scoring offense.
 
Last season, Coughman was a First Team All-CIAA selection.
 
The Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl features seniors from the Historically Black Colleges and Universities throughout the country.  The game will be played on December 18, 2010, in the Georgia Dome.  Tickets may be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com. ; More information on the HBCU Bowl can be found at www.hbcubowl.com.
 
The Bears are 5-2 on the season thus far, and 4-0 in the CIAA.  This Saturday, Chowan visits Shaw for the Bears 2010 Homecoming game.  Kickoff is at 4:00 p.m. at Southeast Raleigh High School.
