VUU's Mims selected for Russell HBCU Bowl

Virginia Union University's David Mims has been selected to play in the 2010 Russell HBCU Bowl, to be held on December 18 in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga.

Mims, a senior offensive lineman from Charlotte, N.C., has anchored a Panther offensive line which has allowed VUU quarterbacks to pass for over 1,200 yards and VUU running backs to rush for over 1,300 yards.

The 2nd Annual Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl is slated for December 18, 2010 in the Georgia Dome. The highly-anticipated game will feature players from all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). The Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl was created for the HBCU Football Student Athlete as a reward for outstanding work that senior players have displayed throughout their collegiate career. It has also been developed as a tool for these players to display their talent against the best HBCU football players in the country, in front of 32 NFL professional teams and personnel, along with the CFL and UFL.
