JCSU's Franklin chosen for 2010 Russell Athletics HBCU Bowl

Atlanta, GA – Johnson C. Smith University senior receiver Jeremy Franklin (Casselberry, FL) has been selected to play in the 2010 Russell HBCU Bowl slated for December 18th in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. This will be the second annual contest.Jeremy Franklin

Franklin became the JCSU all-time leader in receptions and receiving yardage this season. To date for his career, Franklin has 2,974 receiving yards, 200 catches, and 24 touchdowns. This season Franklin has 49 receptions for 643 yards and four TDs.

The 2nd Annual Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl is set for December 18, 2010 in the Georgia Dome. The highly-anticipated game will feature players from all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). The Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl was created for the HBCU Football Student Athlete as a reward for outstanding work that senior players have displayed throughout their collegiate career. It has also been developed as a tool for these players to display their talent against the best HBCU football players in the country, in front of 32 NFL professional teams and personnel, along with the CFL and UFL.
