CIAA has two HSRN National Player of the Week Fan Poll nominees

Hartly, DE – Each week, HSRN announces a national player of
the week from both the top DI-FCS and Division II action and fan
voting will make the pick. The Fan Poll winner will be
announced Wednesday afternoon.
The top performances each week are selected and fans across the
country get a chance to cast their vote for who they think had the
best game. The Fan Poll is designed to get fans involved with
the excitement of the HBCU college football action. Fans are
asked to visit HSRN.com and cast their vote for the top
performance. Fans can vote on the poll today (Monday,
Nov. 8) thru (Wednesday, Nov. 10) until 2pm ET.
The CIAA nominees are:
Raymond Williams – Shaw – RB
– 6’1, 190 – SR/Cleveland, OH
Williams led all rushers with 137 yards on 28 carries, including
the game winning 35 yard touchdown run with 3:20 left in the
game. The Bears defeated arch cross town rival St.
Augustine’s 10-6, winning the CIAA Southern Div. and a berth
in the CIAA Championship game.
Clifton Budd – Bowie St. – QB
– 5’10, 185 – JR/Silver Springs, MD
Budd completed 15 of 25 passes for 294 yards and four
touchdowns. The Bulldogs defeated Chowan 59-19, finishing the
season with their best CIAA finish (6-1) since 1989. They
missed their second straight trip to the CIAA Championship game
because of their only conference loss to Virginia State.
