BSU's Budd named HSRN Division II Player of the Week

(Hartly, DE) Bowie State’s Clifton Budd (Silver Spring, MD, Sherwood) is the week ten winner of the Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) National Division II Player of the Week award.  Budd completed 15 of 25 passes for 294 yards and four touchdowns.  The Bulldogs defeated Chowan 59-19, finishing the season with their best CIAA finish (6-1) since 1989.  They missed their second straight trip to the CIAA Championship game because of their only conference loss to Virginia State.

This is Budd's second national honor from HSRN.

Each week during the season, HSRN’s staff will select the top performances from all HBCU action and give the fans across the country a chance to vote for the Player of the Week. HSRN developed the fan poll to get all HBCU alumni, students and fans involved with the national process and to also give everyone a chance to consistently keep up with the individual performances around the country.
