Lincoln's Green named to The Associated Press Little All-American Team

NEW YORK, N.Y. – It has been a very busy week for Lincoln University junior defensive end Tim Green (Fanwood, N.J./Scott-Plains-Fanwood HS) as the postseason accolades continue to come.
Green, a native of Fanwood, N.J., was selected on Saturday to
The Associated Press Little All-American Team. On Tuesday, Green
earned the American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II
All-American Team honors and the awards keep coming after a
breakout season where he led Division II in sacks per game at
1.5.
Both NCAA Division II All-American honors are the first in Lincoln
University history.
“We, as a team and a staff, continue to be impressed with the
postseason awards that Tim has received,” Lincoln head coach
O.J. Abanishe said. “Once again, with hard work and
dedication, anything is possible.”
On the defensive line, Green led the CIAA and NCAA Division II with
17 sacks for a loss of 119 yards. He ranked tops in NCAA Division
II in sacks by averaging 1.50 per game and was second in the
country in tackles for loss, averaging 2.30 per contest. Green
finished his junior season with 56 tackles, including 42 solos. He
registered a team-high 23 tackles for a loss of 136 yards. He also
added three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two pass
breakups and one safety.
One of the key anchors of the Lincoln defense, which ranked first
in NCAA Division II, Green recorded four sacks and nine tackles at
Kentucky State on Sept. 10. He had three sacks agaist Virginia
Union and Virginia University of Lynchburg.
For his performance throughout the season, Green was selected to
the CIAA All-Defensive First Team.
