CIAA Football Players of the Week- Week Four

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN- Reginald Berry, Bowie State University
 
Position:  OL  Height:  6-3  Weight:  325  Class:  Jr.  Hometown:  Washington, DC
Comments:  Berry was the key blocker that led Bowie State to a season-high 270 rushing yards. 
 
 
RECEIVER- Dexter Manley, Elizabeth City State University
 
Position:  WR  Height:  6-3  Weight:  190  Class:  Sr  Hometown:  Chesapeake, VA Comments:  Manley single handedly put the Vikings ahead for good with back to back touchdowns. ECSU trailed 13-0 early before Manley's TD receptions of four and eight yards gave ECSU the lead for good in their 38-26 win over Fayetteville State. He finished the day with six catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns. His longest catch went for 53 yards. 
 
 
OFFENSIVE BACK- Ares McGlone-English, Virginia Union University
 
Position:  QB  Height:  6-2  Weight:  205  Class:  SO  Hometown:  Hampton, VA
Comments:  McGlone-English passed for five touchdowns (one short of the school record) and rushed for another TD as VUU downed Lincoln University 55-31 on Hovey Field in Richmond, VA. McGlone-English finished the night with 10 completions on 20 attempts for 145 yards. 
 
 
DEFENSIVE LINEMAN- Jason Boyce, Virginia Union University
 
Position:  DL Height:  6-4  Weight:  260  Class:  SR  Hometown:  Queens, NY
Comments:  Boyce led the VUU defense with seven tackles as the Panthers defeated the Lincoln University Lions. Boyce had three solo tackles and two tackles for a loss of four yards. 
 
LINEBACKER- Jeremy Cunningham, Fayetteville State University
 
Position:  LB Height:  6-1  Weight:  240  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Casa Grande AZ
Comments:  Cunningham recorded a game-high 18 tackles in Fayetteville State's game against Elizabeth City State; double the number of tackles of any other player on the field. Cunningham had three tackles for loss in the game, resulting in a total loss of 11 yards. He also recorded a sack for a loss of five yards.
 
 
DEFENSIVE BACK- Marques Johnson, Virginia Union University
 
Position:  DB Height:  6-2  Weight:  275  Class:  SR  Hometown:  Philadelphia, PA
Comments:  Johnson intercepted a pass and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown. 
 
 
ROOKIE- Marc McCadden, Chowan University 

Position:  LB Height:  6-0  Weight:  220  Class:  Fr  Hometown:  Rocky Mount, NC
Comments:  Marc McCadden tallied nine tackles (six solo, three assisted) in a 48-7 loss to WSSU. He collected two sacks, three TFL's, and one forced fumble in the game. 
 
SPECIALTY- Danny Heimrich, Elizabeth City State University
 
Position:  P/K  Height:  5-11  Weight:  190  Class:  Jr  Hometown:  Southern Pines, NC Comments:  In the Vikings’ win over FSU, Heimrich punted the ball five times for 196 yards (long of 47 yards) with two falling inside the 20-yard line and one touchback. He also had five kickoffs for 226 yard (45.2 avg).The Broncos’ average starting field possession was on their own 26 yard line.
 
COACH- Waverly Tillar, Elizabeth City State University
Comments:  The Vikings were impressive with a 38-26 win over the defending CIAA Champions Fayetteville State, at the 13th Annual Down East Classic. This was the Vikings’ third straight win over FSU and their second win over the Broncos at the Down East Viking Football Classic.
