OFFENSIVE LINEMAN- Markus McElveen, Shaw University 
Position:  OL Height:  6-4  Weight:  315  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Norwalk, CT
Comments:  McElveen anchored an offensive line that helped the Bears roll up 375 yards of offense, 198 of it on the ground. (Shaw def. Fayetteville St., 34-27)
 
RECEIVER- Julius Gregory, Shaw University
Position:  WR Height:  6-5  Weight:  225  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Portsmouth, VA
Comments:  Gregory pulled in three catches for 100 yards - two of them for touchdowns. With the two TDs, Gregory broke both the Shaw single season and career touchdown reception records. 
 
OFFENSIVE BACK- Ryan Simpson, Chowan University
Position:  QB  Height:  5-7  Weight:  160  Class:  Fr  Hometown:  Los Angeles, CA
Comments:  Ryan Simpson came up big for Chowan in a 31-20 win over Saint Paul’s on Saturday. The backup tailback and third string QB led the Hawks’ offense this week where he passed for 258 yards on 21-30 completions. He threw one touchdown pass and ran for two more. His touchdown runs were 19 and 34 yards.
 
DEFENSIVE LINEMAN- Brad Cash, Chowan University
Position:  DE  Height:  6-0  Weight:  230  Class:  Sr  Hometown:  Dayton, OH
Comments:  Brad Cash led Chowan's defensive unit with five total tackles in a 31-20 win over Saint Paul’s. Four of those five tackles were sacks. He totaled five sacks for a loss of 41 yards in the game, including a 12 yard sack on a 4th and 2 late in the 4th quarter.  That sack gave Chowan the ball back and allowed them to run out the clock for the win. 
 
LINEBACKER- Steven Stanback, St. Augustine’s College
Position:  LB  Height:  5-11  Weight:  220  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Temple Hills, Md.
Comments:  Stanback had a game-high 13 tackles including a four-yard tackle for loss on a third down and goal at the Falcons' three-yard line late in the game. The tackle helped stop Central State from scoring and sending the game into overtime. Stanback also had an interception in the Falcons' 21-14 win. 
 
DEFENSIVE BACK- Jairon Bailey, Lincoln University (PA)
Position:  SS  Height:  5-11  Weight:  205  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Los Angeles, Calif.
Comments:  Jairon Bailey had a game-high 3.5 tackles for loss with a season-high eight stops for Lincoln against Bowie State. He had a sack for a loss of nine yards and a pass break-up to prevent a touchdown. He also forced a fumble; which he recovered. On a key fourth down early in the game with Bowie State at the LU seven, Bailey stepped up and plugged the open hole with a monster blow, stopping the Bulldogs inches short of the marker to force the turnover on downs. 
 
ROOKIE- Ryan Simpson, Chowan University

SPECIALTY- Justin Parker, Virginia State University
Position:  K  Height:  5-9  Weight:  170  Class:  SR  Hometown:  Petersburg, VA
Comments:  In the second quarter, Parker made two field goals to add to the Trojans’ lead. Parker nailed a 26 yard FG and 31 yard FG making him a perfect 6-6 on FG attempts in the 2010 season. 
 
COACH- Tim Place, Chowan University
Comments:  Head Coach Tim Place helped to guide his team to a 31-20 win over Saint Paul’s on Saturday, marking the team's third win in a row. The Hawks are now 3-1 in the CIAA Northern Division and are tied for second place.

Other Notables…
Notes of Interest:  Walter Sanders of Saint Augustine's College needs 31 yards to become the school's first 1,000-yard rusher in the modern era. He has 969 yards with three regular-season games left. He has rushed for over 100 yards in six consecutive games.
 
* Chowan has won three games in a row, a feat not accomplished since 1999. These three season wins are the most in Chowan's NCAA DII history (2006).
