Shaw Ranked 25th in AFCA Preseason Poll

Shaw University has been ranked 25th in the 2011 American Football Coaches Association Preseason Division II Coaches Poll. The Bears received 91 points to put them in a tie at the 25th spot with Hillsdale (Mich).
In 2010, the Bears captured the CIAA championship and finished with a 9-3 record.
Minnesota-Duluth, the defending national champion tops the preseason poll followed by national runner-up Delta State. Shepherd (W.Va), who defeated Shaw in the 2010 NCAA playoffs starts the season ranked 11th.
Shaw opens the 2011 season when they travel to Tuscaloosa, AL, to take on Stillman on September 3. The Bears first home game is September 24 when they host Elizabeth City State. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. at Durham County Memorial Stadium.
