OFFENSIVE LINEMAN
Larry McDonald, Fayetteville State University
Position:  OG   Height:  6-1  Weight:  333  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Mebane, NC 
Comments:  Leading the Fayetteville State offensive line, senior Larry McDonald, made his 40th consecutive start; helping the Broncos roll up 471 total yards, including 288 on the ground. FSU had 25 first downs in its 17-7 victory over Livingstone. 

RECEIVER (Wideouts/Tight Ends)
Kevin Hodrick, Chowan University
Position:  WR   Height:  6-2  Weight:  215  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Carson, CA 
Comments:  Hodrick caught ten passes for 149 yards, both team-highs and one touchdown to help Chowan defeat Shaw 34-32. 

QUARTERBACK
Cameron Stover, Chowan University
Height:  6-3  Weight:  190  Class:  So.  Hometown:  Flint, MI 
Comments:  Stover, who has battled injury all season, completed 24 of 40 passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns against Shaw. Coming into the game, Shaw was leading the CIAA in passing defense, giving up just 92.3 per game. 

OFFENSIVE BACK (Running back/Halfback/Fullback/Tailback)
Daronte McNeill, Elizabeth City State University
Position:  TB   Height:  6-1  Weight:  205  Class:  Jr  Hometown:  Elizabeth City, NC 
Comments:  McNeill continues to be a catalyst during the Vikings’ six-game win streak. In the Vikings' division clinching win over Bowie State he carried the ball 41 times for 159 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 33-yard touchdown reception; his first receiving score of the year. McNeill has also exceeded the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the second straight season- now with 1,156 yards and 16 touchdowns on the year. 

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN
Brad Davis, Elizabeth City State University
Position:  DE   Height:  6-1  Weight:  245  Class:  Jr  Hometown:  Charlotte, NC 
Comments:  In a game that was dictated by the defense, Davis came up big with two sacks for a loss of nine yards versus Bowie State. He finished the day with five solo tackles and three quarterback hurries.

LINEBACKER
Chaz Robinson, Saint Augustine’s College
Position:  LB  Height:  5-11  Weight:  220  Class:  Soph  Hometown:  Hampton, VA 
Comments:  Robinson finished Saturday’s contest with a game-high 16 total tackles (11 solo, 5 assisted) for St. Aug in its 34-15 homecoming win over Johnson C. Smith. He also had one tackle for loss and one pass break-up. Robinson led a defense which slowed down CIAA total yards leader Keahn Wallace (JCSU). 

DEFENSIVE BACK
DaKorion DeSamme, Chowan University
Position:  DB   Height:  5-11  Weight:  190  Class:  So.  Hometown:  Riviera Beach, FL 
Comments:  DeSamme recorded two interceptions in a 29 second span against Shaw- his first two of the season. His first was returned 55 yards for a touchdown to put Chowan up 21-13 with just 32 seconds remaining in the first half. 

ROOKIE
Chauncey Concepcion , Fayetteville State University
Position:  QB    Height:  5-10  Weight:  155  Class:  Fr.  Hometown:  Charlotte, NC 
Comments:  Making his third collegiate start, the true freshman ran for a career-high 125 yards on just 13 carries, including a 13-yard touchdown run. He also passed for 183 yards and was the key offensive threat as the Broncos rolled up 471 total yards and 25 first downs in a 17-7 win over Livingstone. 

SPECIALTY
Michael Lima, Saint Augustine’s College
Position:  PK   Height:  5-11  Weight:  165  Class:  R-Fr  Hometown:  Miami, FL 
Comments:  Lima booted two field goals and was 4-for-4 on extra points for St. Aug in a 34-15 homecoming win over JCSU. His 44-yarder, two yards shy of the modern school mark, gave the Falcons a 3-0 lead on their first drive and set the tone early. 

COACH
Waverly Tillar, Elizabeth City State University
Comments:  Coach Tillar guided the Viking to a 23-12 division clinching win over Bowie State. After starting the season 0-2- Tillar has extended ECSU's win streak to six games. This is ECSU's third division title since 2006 (06,08,and 11). 


Notes of Interest:
 

  • Daronte McNeill now has 1,156 yards sending him over the 1,000 yard mark for the second straight season. 
  • St. Aug won its first ever home game on campus at the George Williams Athletic Complex. The Falcons defeated Johnson C. Smith on Homecoming Day.
