VSU climbs to 10th; LC's Bethea sits in 7th at Golf Super Regional

DANIELS, WV – Virginia State cut a stroke off if its opening round score to climb into a tie for 10th place at the 2010 NCAA East/Atlantic Golf Super Regional Tournament with a two day total of 631.
Livingstone golfer Kenny Bethea sits in 7th place in the individual standings after shooting a second-round 79, Tuesday.
Senior Greg Hunt led the Trojan scoring finishing with a three-over par 76 on the day. Teammate Stuart Larus knocked seven strokes off of his first round score to help VSU move up two spots in the overall standings. The Trojans are 13 strokes out of fifth place in a tournament where the top five teams advance to the National Championship.
Host Concord Universit leads the field with a two-day total of 594.
Bethea has a two-day total, 159, 15 shots over par. Bethea must finish in the top two of the individual standings to advance to nationals. Bethea is currently eight shots out of second place. Drew Deimel of Gannon University continues to lead the individuals at four shots over par.
The final round begins Wednesday at The Resort at Gale Springs course in Daniels, WV.
