VUU ranked third in nation by Street & Smith

Virginia Union University, which won the NCAA Division II National Championship last season, is ranked third in the nation by Street & Smith Magazine in the annual College Basketball Yearbook.

Tarleton State University, an Elite Eight tournament team a season ago, is ranked number-one, while Western Washington University is ranked second. VUU, Saint Anselm and Mount Olive College round out the top five.

Senior Darius Hargrove was named to the second-team All-American squad while fellow senior Duan Crockett made honorable mention.

VUU finished 30-4 a year ago, and begins the season against Virginia Commonwealth University on November 10 in the Siegel Center.
