Lincoln basketball teams to be included on the 2008-09 CIAA Master Schedule

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA. - The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's and women's basketball teams will be included on the 2008-09 CIAA Master schedule.
 
While Lincoln will be eligible to compete in the league schedule, it will not participate in the annual CIAA tournament in Charlotte from Feb. 23-28. Lincoln is still transitioning from Division III to Division II. Lincoln will play 20 league games - one home and one away - against Bowie State, Fayetteville State, Elizabeth City State, Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone, St. Augustine's, St. Paul's, Shaw, Virginia State and Virginia Union.
 
"This is where we want to be as a conference," CIAA Commissioner Leon G. Kerry said. "(Having Lincoln included on the master schedule) adds to the dream of when they will become a full member."
 
The Lincoln men will open the season in the Bowie State tournament against the host Bulldogs on Friday November 14. The women will host their third annual James A. Richardson tournament beginning on Saturday November 15. The Lady Lions welcome University of the Sciences, College of Saint Rose and Briarcliffe College to Rivero Hall. The Lincoln women will play Briarcliffe in its season opener.
 
The complete 2008-09 men's and women's schedules will be released at a later date.
