Newcomer of the Week - Notes of Interest

Caruthers had another solid week, averaging 21 points per game. Caruthers was a big part of the Blue Bears' victory over Bowie State. While the team struggled from the free throw line, Caruthers connected on 12 of 14 free throws, while scoring 27 points to push the Blue Bears to victory. 

Coach of the Week

Cleo Hill, Jr., Shaw University

Coach Hill led the Bears to two wins this week over Virginia State and Saint Paul's, making the Bears 3-0 in the CIAA.  In both games, Hill made adjustments at halftime that took close games (a tie against VSU and seven points against SPC) and turned them into 18-point wins.
