Player of the Week - Notes of Interest:
Smith helped lead his team in a close 68-64 win over Clayton State. He nailed two critical buckets (one a 3-pointer) to close out the first half and hold off a surging Lakers squad. He then hit three shots early in the second half to help the Bears build a lead they never relinquished.

Newcomer of the Week - Notes of Interest:
Banks was nearly perfect in his debut this past week. He shot 81 percent from the floor in three games and led the Falcons to a huge win (69-66) over Mount Olive. He led the team in scoring with 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting from the floor; including 2-for-2 free throws.
Coach of the Week
Lonnie Blow Jr., Saint Augustine's College
Coach Blow directed the Falcons to a 3-0 record this past
week including victories over Eckerd College, Lenoir-Rhyne and
Mount Olive. Eckerd was 5-1 and Mount Olive was 5-2 entering their
games against the Falcons. Saint Augustine's has won eight straight
games since dropping their season opener. The Falcons have the best
overall record (8-1) in the CIAA.
