Trevin Parks has been a scoring machine for JCSU. He matched his career-high scoring 36 points against the Univ. of Charleston. Parks also hit five 3-pointers and dished out six assists in the contest. For the Golden Bulls' first road game, Parks has a team-high 23 points with four rebounds. Parks is averaging 26 points per game for the year.

Rookie of the Week - Notes of Interest:

Shelton showed considerable poise against perennial power Barton, shooting 60 percent from the field while being perfect from behind the 3-point line and at the foul line. Shelton's steady presence enabled the Broncos to stay in the game throughout the second half until the waning minutes. His 12 points were a career high.

Newcomer of the Week - Notes of Interest:

Chaney was a one-man scoring machine in overtime Saturday as the Bears defeated previously undefeated Eckerd 78-73 in overtime. In addition to hitting a critical bucket in the final minutes of overtime, Chaney scored ten of Shaw's 14 points in the overtime period. For the game, he was six for six from the free throw line. During the two-game Eckerd Classic, Chaney shot 67 percent (12 for 18) and missed only one of his eight free throw attempts. In addition, Chaney pulled in 12 rebounds against Eckerd, including four key offensive rebounds - three of which were converted into points.  

 

COACH OF THE WEEK

John Hill, Lincoln University (PA)
When the week began, Lincoln was 1-3, but the Lions have reeled off three straight over the week and currently are riding a four-game winning streak - matching the win total of last season. He guided Lincoln to a victory over ninth ranked Bowie State in the Fresh Coast Classic Championship Game in Milwaukee, Wis.

Player of the Week - Notes of Interest:

Harper scored a career high 28 points, and hit the three to force an extra session, in the Lady Vikings' 83-78 overtime win over Augusta State at the VSU/Chick-Fil-A Thanksgiving Classic. She was named to the All-Classic Team and posted her second double-double of the season with 19 points and 15 rebounds vs. Mercy College as ECSU went 2-0 at the Classic.

Newcomer of the Week - Notes of Interest:

Evans averaged 11 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and two assists in two games at the Oahu Classic in Hawaii. She scored a career-high 16 points and had six rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 66-58 win over host Chaminade.

 

COACH OF THE WEEK

Alico Dunk, Elizabeth City State University
After starting the season 0-2, the Lady Vikings have reeled off three straight wins, including a 2-0 record at the VSU/Chick-Fil-A Thanksgiving Classic with wins over Augusta State and Mercy College.
