Basketball to Hold "Midnight Madness at 6 p.m." Sunday, October 15, 2017

Virginia Union University's men's and women's basketball teams will host MIDNIGHT MADNESS AT 6 P.M. beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Fans of the Panthers will get a chance to see the 2017-18 teams along with the Cheerleaders and the Band.

A Greek Step Show will also be performed.

The women's team, including Pre-Season All-CIAA picks Alexis Johnson and Jayda Luckie, will be introduced first followed by the men's team, with Pre-Season All-CIAA picks Kory Cooley and James Paige. A three-point contest and a dunk contest will also be staged.

The evening concludes with two 10-minute scrimmages, first by the women's team, then followed by the men's team.

The men's team, which won 22 games and made it to the 2017 NCAA Tournament, begins the 2017-18 season with an exhibition game against Virginia Commonwealth University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, in the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.

The women's team, which ended the season ranked #2 in the nation and made it all the way to the 2017 National Championship Game, opens the 2017-18 season with an exhibition contest against Louisburg College at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
