2007 Mid-Atlantic Regional: No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic 5, Shaw 0

SAVANNAH, GA - The No. 3-ranked Armstrong Atlantic men's tennis team picked up a 5-0 win over Shaw in the first round of the 2007 Mid-Atlantic Region in Savannah on Thursday afternoon, earning a berth in Friday's championship match.
The Pirates won all three doubles matches, then got singles wins from Henrik Lilja, 6-0, 6-0 over Martin Faison at No. 6 singles, and Christian Bergh, 6-0, 6-1 over Mehdi Ben Cheikh at No. 3 singles. AASU improves to 25-3 on the season, while CIAA champion Shaw finishs its season with a 15-6 mark.
CIAA Men's Tennis Player of the Year Ibukun Ilesanmi did not get a chance to finish his match in which he had won the first set 6-3 and was up in the second set.
AASU takes on the winner of Augusta State and USC Aiken in the Mid-Atlantic Region Championship match at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4.
